The Wasilla Log Home is a gorgeous, cape-style house that is the perfect residence for "The Last Frontier." Blending the cozy comfort of a log cabin with a porch that fully wraps around the building means no matter what the Alaska weather throws at you, you'll be ready. This home was built with a V-Groove log profile and mortise and tenon log corners, creating a rustic, yet clean look.
As previously stated, the entire main floor is surrounded by a porch that can be accessed from multiple points. Entering through the front of the home, you enter a large entryway with tiled floor and a log staircase leading up to the loft. Beyond the staircase is the great room, which features cathedral ceilings and large windows that allow in plenty of natural light. A wood stove in the corner provides some nice heat and doors lead out to the deck.
Tucked into the corner is a spacious kitchen with a U-shaped countertop and raised bar seating. This kitchen is perfect for any family that enjoys entertaining or cooking up a large family meal. Nearby is the dining area, finishing up the main living space of the residence. The open floor plan really takes advantage of the gorgeous logs and other materials that make this a stunning home.
The private quarters of the home are on either side of the great room. A bathroom/laundry room separates the kitchen from a bedroom on one end, while the master suite takes up the other side of the house. A large master bedroom has access to a good-sized walk-in closet and master bathroom. The second floor is primarily a large loft space used as a bedroom and exercise room. A small bathroom and another bedroom have been added to this floor as well. Overall, the Wasilla Log Home does a lot with the space it has and creates a wonderful, homey, yet classy atmosphere.
