Matt Yardley is a lifelong resident of New England where he gained a great appreciation early in life for the abundant traditional architectural design and craftsmanship that the region is known for. At the age of seven he built his first house, a tree house, which would be all the inspiration needed to dedicate his life to home building. He had early exposure to construction sites on the weekends and summers assisting his father with carpentry and electrical projects. In high school he focused his studies on technical drawing and building science, going on to compete in a design challenge with the American Institute of Architects and taking first place which as a result validated his aspirations of pursuing a career in residential construction. Matt joined WHS Homes with previous experiences in framing, millwork fabrication, project management, property management, and architectural design. His portfolio of completed projects ranges from modest tiny homes to extravagant, multi-million-dollar estates. With WHS Homes he has found fulfillment bringing clients dreams to reality as a Regional Project Manager working with a talented team of dedicated professionals. For him, the most rewarding part of overseeing projects is seeing the client’s enjoyment from the use of their new home and knowing that the projects they have collaborated on will be admired for generations. In his spare time, Matt enjoys staying active with all the outdoor activities the Northeast has to offer including skiing, hiking, and boating. Despite retiring his hammer to manage client’s projects, he cannot avoid getting his hands dirty with wood working or home improvement projects. His insatiable hunger for knowledge and continuous improvement compels him to seek enriching opportunities to hone his skills and better familiarize himself with design trends and innovative product solutions.
